2003 NORTHEAST REGION STAFF COLLEGE GRADUATES 15

McGuire AFB, NJ - This year's Region Staff College was held at the NCO Academy, McGuire AFB, NJ from 13 to 19 July with nine Majors and six Captains coming together for the Staff College under the direction of Col. Bryan W. Cooper, former Rhode Island Wing Commander and current Director of Plans & Programs for the Northeast Region.

Serving as Commandant of Students was Lt Col Jim Mackey, a resident of Arizona who previously served as Director of Emergency Services for the Northeast Region. Col Joy S. Nelson served as Curriculum Coordinator with Major Charles Howlet as her Assistant.  Both were from New York Wing. Serving as Adjutant to the Commandant was 1st Lt Morris Hoodye, a member of California Wing who formerly served on the staff of Northeast Region. Maj Jack Ozer, a member of New York Wing, served as Social/Protocal Officer.  Lt Col Margaret Hannah served as Finance Officer while her husband, Lt Col Wellesley Hannah, served as Seminar Advisor to Seminar One.  Both are members of the Florida Wing, where he is Vice Commander. 

Serving as Seminar Two Adviser was Major Joseph Goldman from New York Wing. Serving as Program Analyst was Lt Col Randall Johnson, a member of New York Wing, assisted by Lt Col Evmorfilli Kyridis of Massachusetts Wing and Maj William Bishop from New Jersey Wing. Capt Stephen Samuels, a member of New York Wing, served as Director of Support, assisted by Capt Mac Brice, New York Wing; Capt Joe Wyatt, New Jersey Wing; and Lt Col John A. O'Grady and Lt Col Constance O'Grady, members of the Northeast Region Staff.

Attending as students were:  Maj John F. Galuski, Maj Gladys M. Suessle, Maj Stanley A.. Skrabut and Capt John E. Bradley III from New York Wing; Maj Roberta (Jackie) Fries and Capt Karl R. Katterjohn from the Maryland Wing; Maj H. Mead Herrick and Maj Darin L. Ninness from New Hampshire Wing; Maj John C. Jacobson of New Jersey Wing; Maj Daniel M. Wrobel of Connecticut Wing; Capt Alex M. Bodner and Maj Gary W. Metz, members of Pennsylvania Wing; Capt James A. Ray from Northeast Region staff, Capt Ernest G. Manzano of Florida Wing, and Capt Karl Senor, a member of the Vermont Wing.

The Dining Out was held on Friday, July 18th at the McGuire Officers Club.  Maj Darin Ninness was chosen as President of the Mess and Capt Ernest G. Manzano served as Mr. Vice.  The Lamplighter Award, an award given to the most effective student chosen by the students, was given to Capt John E. Bradley III.
