ROTC Shadow Day by C/Amn T. Jacobs

The ROTC program shadow day at RIT (Rochester Institute Of Technology)campus was overall very nicely planed and prepared. I found everything I learned there to be extremely interesting and helpful.

What I liked the most about what I learned was the transitions in stages cadets that go threw the ROTC program experience. I found it interesting that the first year and second year cadets as I recall are not actually in the Air Force so to speak, unless they signed a contract included in a scholarship.

Another key point in the day was learning about a typical day in the life of a cadet there. We learned that each cadet is only required to spend six hours a week participating in ROTC events; such as PT and lead labs.

I liked at the end of the day when a couple of the cadets showed us around the campus and showed us where everything was. Some of these places were the Chapel, restaurants, and different classes in different buildings. I would like to thank all involved in getting me and other CAP Cadets the chance to visit during that day.
