Seaplane Homecoming

Canandaigua Composite Squadron along with Condor, Rochester, and Batavia Composite Squadrons attended the Seaplane Homecoming at Hammondsport’s NY, September 12, 13, and 14th 2008. "The birth place of Seaplane Aviation!"

We all assisted with crowd control and local traffic moving barriers to let the local through to get to their homes. We were also aloud bivouac at the local Fire Department for the weekend.

Saturday in the early afternoon we were honored to witness the first flight of the replica of the "America Seaplane," that took the local Curtiss Museum five years and five thousand hours of volunteer work to build. This was the third year they had attempted to make the flight and it was a complete success!

It was truly a great Aerospace event for all Squadrons to witness and we all had a great time helping out. Thank you goes out to the Curtiss Museum Volunteers for inviting us back for our second year to support our local Aviation Community.
